Here are some tips for the care and cleaning Corian countertops:
1. The most important thing to remember when cleaning Corian, is to clean the surface after dry cleaning. If left to dry, a film can accumulate on the surface. This film will end up leaving the counter or dull spots.
2. Wash with water and cleaning products, soap and water, or solid surface, specially designed for Corian surfaces. Never use window cleaners, as they leave a film that ultimately could damage the surface.
3. If hard water marks, use a cleaner that is formulated to remove hard water as CLR. Be sure to rinse and dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning.
4. If the surface is opaque to the accumulation of waste, use a product from Stone Care International called Deep Cleaner for DuPont Corian. Follow the directions on the bottle.
5. You can disinfect the counter from time to time by the use of diluted bleach (1 part bleach and 1 part water). Be sure to rinse thoroughly and then dry.
6. Cleaning Corian sinks – use the same procedures outlined above. You can also use Soft Scrub and a pad of green Scotch Brite to remove the waste. NOTE: Do not use Soft Scrub on the surface of the counter for daily cleaning.
7. Corian resists heat, but it is not safe to place hot pots and pans directly on the surface. Always wear protective or trivits.
